Caffeinated Thoughts: El Rushbo Hits Obama Back

  • TheDemoMemo · 11 months ago
President Obama is out of his league, taking a swipe at the person who wished out loud that Obama fails? What is wrong with this picture? Clearly, you are delusional.
  • Shane Vander Hart · 11 months ago
His statement is actually that Obama policy success (in getting it past) = failure for our nation. Don't you think it is hard for somebody to want success for a program or policy with which you vehemently disagree with? It would be kind of like a liberal wishing Bush success when success means something that person would disagree with.

TARF, and Obama's spending plan are historically on shaking ground since no where in our history has spending brought us out of a recession.

I think he would be more than happy to wish for success for decent policies, but have yet to see that come out of his administration.

On Monday, El Rushbo said that Obama was using a rule taken from Saul Alinski's book "Rules For Radicals." He said it was rule number 13 identify, compartmentalize and immobilize. Rush is right when he says the current stimulus package is not for the good of America, but to have liberal control for at least 50 years. I remember earlier this summer when Rush talked about the First edition of the book "Rules for Radicals" he spoke of Alinsky dedicating his book to Satan. The original radical. Pretty creepy!!!!

Somebody said on Fox, I don't remember who. That he isn't trying to help the economy to recover, but to remake it.
  • Dana · 11 months ago
Usually when you take public swipes like this, it is about communicating with your base, not engaging in any sort of dialogue. What does he care if or how Rush responds? The people he is really talking to either don't listen, or will hear his response through their filter.
  • Shane Vander Hart · 11 months ago
You are right this is for the base. President Clinton did this and it was ineffective. I think this is more a reminder to the GOP Senators and Congressman who would think about taking President Obama's advice.

I don't expect any liberal folks to change their mind, but hopefully it will help to galvanize conservatives.

Dana brings up a salient point, and so do you, Shane (as usual).

    1. Rush isn't about instigating change across party aisles; he is about starting a wildfire in his party and then parking his car along that political divide and pouring gasoline all over it.

    2. To that end, Rush is arguably the most politically astute pundit on the planet. HE knows everything about what is happening on the Hill, and anyone planning to get in a debate with that man better pack a lunch.

    3. And then, the BarackStar wouldn't be out of his league if he could his teleprompters with him. Heck, even disciples of that man think his oratory skills are off the charts (they are), but his rote memory could use some work.

    Peace,
    HiScrivener

I'd love to see a debate between those two.

Perhaps, but Rush isn't adored by the majority media. For many, perception is reality.
  • Shane Vander Hart · 11 months ago
You are right that the MSM (why do you call them majority?) doesn't adore him. I think this further endears him to conservatives. Usually when the MSM doesn't like you - it is a GOOD thing at least from a conservative perspective.

Today in my inbox for email, I received an email from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (or DCCC for short). They are attacking Limbaugh as well and using it as an opportunity to raise funds for the DCCC. It links to a page to sign a petition to let Limbaugh know how you "feel" about his comments that he made that he "hopes he fails" .

It is troubling to me that is the distration that Obama and now the regular party has chosen to draw attention away from the problems and more so the solutions that are being propsed in DC. Someone commented on this blog that if the weak backed boned republicans had been listening to Limbaugh we may not be where we are today. I don't have much confidence that the republicans will find their will or back bone for quite a while.

Well I could say if they did listen to him and stuck to fiscal conservatism that we wouldn't have seen the increased spending like we have over the past three or so years.

They may not be back in 2010, but they'll be back. Conservatism isn't dead. Just like the Democratic Party wasn't dead after their losses.

Doesn't surprise me that Rush is not concerned about or surprised by a $1.2 million remodel of a CEO's office. He and republicans like him are simply out of touch.
  • Shane Vander Hart · 11 months ago
I disagree with him there, but his larger point is that this really isn't how you stimulate the economy.
  • Kansas Bob · 11 months ago
On that we agree Shane.. seems that Republicans and Democrats alike all feel that the Govt is the answer.

I do like the fact that Obama seems to be dialoging with Republicans though.. hope that it is more than a bit of El Rushbo type of grandstanding.
