Victory over death and dominion of the iniquity of evil.
God Bless...
On a side note: what is the "ESV" Bible you quote from? I'm surprised that, givven your ultra-conservative take on things you don't use the KJV.
Also-That news about you and Anchorage is really exciting!! What church is it? I'll be in prayer about it for you and your family! It'd be cool if you lived in Anchorage-it so close to Alaska. HAHAHAHA!
The ESV is the "English Standard Version" it's pretty new (2-3 years old), but is a word-for-word translation that is incredibly faithful to the original Hebrew & Greek, more readable than the New American Standard Version, and modern unlike the King James Version. It's pretty popular in Reformed circles. As far as me being conservative - well I wouldn't consider myself "ultra" conservative compared to a lot of people I know :). If I were to apply a label to myself it would be: a "Missional Reformed Evangelical Christian" definitely not fundamentalist or a part of the KJV only crowd.
The church in Anchorage is Sand Point Baptist Church (part of the Baptist General Conference denomination, very similar to the Evangelical Free Church denomination I'm a part of now). Haven't progressed beyond a phone contact and a couple of e-mails - so I'm not getting excited yet we are not that far along. I just thought I'd mention it to you since it's somewhat in your neck of the woods (like 5 hours away from Fairbanks isn't it?).
Appreciate the prayer!
And, yeah, like I said, "Anchorage is close to Alaska." :) 5 hours from Fairbanks on a clear, winter day, 7 on a clear, summer day with tourists and road construction, and anywhere form 5-10 if roads are bad for any reason...about 360 miles. But anyone who doesn't live in Anchorage doesn't really consider it part of Alaska-you know that, right? It's "North Seattle," or "that place close to Alaska"...the only wildlife around Anchorage are some of the human residents!
I didn't know that Alaskans viewed Anchorage that way, LOL. Good to know.
